Natural (Bio-Identical) Progesterone Dosages

“Where Can I Get Bio-Identical Progesterone?”

Whether you decide to stop the Pill or not, if you take our advice and start on bio-identical progesterone, the most effective way is by taking an easily swallowed capsule or pill.

The best and least expensive source in the world can be found at www.progest50.com and you can get it without a prescription for as little as $15 per month.

There are three general groups of women to consider when taking this course of action.

A.  Are You Staying On the Pill? Then You Must “Match the Pill”

The “Match the Pill” strategy simply means you take the natural progesterone supplements on the same days you take the Pill.  All BCP’s have 21 days of active ingredients (chemically altered hormones) and 7 days of either no pills or “sugar” pills.

So each day you take a birth control pill containing the active ingredients, you simply take a twice daily 50 mg capsule of oral progesterone.

On the other 7 days – you don’t.

Very Simple!

B.  If You Are Off the Pill:

If you’ve stopped taking the Pill, and want to prevent future health problems or reverse your current health complications, then you should start taking natural (or bio-identical) progesterone.

  • For Menstruating Women:

The Rule Of Thumb: if you’re having periods, in child bearing age and still desire (or wouldn’t mind) having more children, then you’re considered to be in the Menstruating Woman Category.

The age group for this category begins with young girls experiencing their very first period all the way up to women approaching age 40.

The best dose for women in this category is taking 50 mg of bio-identical progesterone (pills or capsules) twice daily from days 15 through 28 of your period. (Or if you periods last a bit longer than the norm, on the last day of your cycle.)

Simply put, just start taking the progesterone the next time your day 15 comes up.

Timing is very important, so you don’t want to jump the gun and start taking these bio-identical progesterone hormones too soon or too late.

  • For Everyone Else NOT Taking The Pill

  • Non-Menstruating or Post Menopausal Women
  • Peri-Menopausal Women (Women nearing menopause)
  • Women with Hysterectomies

This category is for everybody that’s either not menstruating or will soon reach menopause. For ease of description we’ll just call this entire group the “Post-Menopausal Category.”

We can even include those of you who are not as yet peri-menopausal, are somewhere around your late 30’s, but don’t want any more children.

This category is much simpler because we don’t have to count days anymore.

The best dose for a non-menstruating woman is 50 mg twice daily, every day of each month.

There’s no need to have a periodic week off (literally).  Natural progesterone is so safe you can take it every day for the rest of your life.

At the recommended dosages your periods, if you still have them, are not likely to change much.  If they do change, they’ll get lighter, shorter or disappear altogether. This is not a problem, and we have never had any woman complain about lighter, shorter or no periods.

C.  If You’re Now On the Pill, But Want To Stop Taking It:

If you’ve read our information and decided going off the Pill was your best move, you’ve made a wise choice. Here’s what you need to do:

If you are currently taking birth control pills, do not start taking the bio-identical  progesterone until you finish out your last round of birth control pills.

In other words, no matter where you are on the birth control pack, finish all 28 pills (or 21 if your pack comes this way) and wait for your next menstrual period to start as usual.  Then throw away your remaining oral contraceptives!

After your period is finished, start taking 50 mg of oral natural progesterone twice daily from days 15 through 28 (or through the last day of your cycle until your next period starts).

Remember:  Day one of your cycle is the first day of bleeding.  So after you finish your birth control pills for the prior month, begin the progesterone on day 15 of the following month.  Then continue to take as instructed above – days 15 through 28 (or the last day before your period starts).

A Word About Progesterone Creams

Many of you have used a progesterone based cream before.

Bluntly put, progesterone creams just won’t work.  You might think that by simply increasing the amount of cream, your health problems will improve.  Sorry – that simply isn’t the case.

Here’s why:

  • Dosages: First, you have no idea what dosages you’re using. It requires an enormous amount of cream to reach a therapeutic (noticeably healing) level.  By that time you’re literally taking a bath in the stuff - with all of the hassles that scenario conjures up.

  • Potency: Cream manufacturers don’t tell you about the variability of hormones within different batches, much less within the same tube.  Skin absorption also varies widely.  While skin does absorb chemicals quite well, it never absorbs them the same way twice.

  • Convenience: Face it – creams are messy, smelly and don’t exactly feel great on the skin either. Which would you rather do: Plaster yourself with  viscous gunk – or swallow a convenient pill?

  • Cost: Finally, creams are 3 or 4 times more expensive than the progesterone capsules.  The preparation you thought was such a bargain can end up costing you US$80 - $100 per month.

Here’s that information again about where to get your all natural supply of bio-identical progesterone: www.progest50.com.

Remember: You can get it without a prescription and delivered right to your front door for as little as $15 per month.
